Hart’s Chapel Hill

Hart’s Chapel Hill

This picturesque location in North East, MD has been artist’s inspiration for quite a while. The view from this hill has been described by Geraldine McKeown as “one of the most scenic locations in Cecil County, Maryland. The vista depicts the rich farmland of the Elk Neck Peninsula sweeping down to the shores of the Elk River near Turkey Point.” The shot I took (stitched using 10 hdr photos) shows a different angle than Geraldine’s painting. It actually depicts the spot where she must have been sitting while creating her painting. Maybe next time I am there I will catch the sunset looking the opposite direction and show the exact view that stunned her so much and inspired the artwork!

For those of you wondering about this location I would say it is a pretty good spot to fly although there is not too much parking space available so if you chose to go there please be mindful of the local traffic. Best time of the day is of course sunrise.

Please always have SAFETY as your number one goal! If the conditions are not favorable
