Chesapeake River Sunrise

Chesapeake River Sunrise

This breathtaking sunrise was revealed in front of my eyes on June 14, 2016. When I made myself get up around 5:30am I was not sure if I could keep my eyes open and the possibility of going right back to sleep was quite strong. Then I looked out through the bathroom window in our house on Chesapeake Bay. What I saw pumped enough adrenaline into my veins to forget about sleep. The sky was already getting all kinds of reds, purples and blues from the rising sun. The sun itself was just about to start showing behind the horizon. I got the drone in the air and recorded the entire sequence. You can see it in the very first minutes of this film:

There is actually a pretty good sunset in this episode of our vlog as well so it might be worth it to last the whole 5 minutes!

The opening image of this post is a stitch of 20 hdr photos (a total of 100 frames recorded to create this image). They were all taken with the Phantom 4. Creating stunning images like this one is easier than you think but it does require several steps you can’t miss. For detailed description of my entire workflow please take a look at the book I wrote. It will take you step by step to becoming a serious aerial photographer.

More than anything please always remain safe, use common sense and mind other people and the wildlife around you when you fly! Happy captures!
