Coursey Pond Sunrise
The best part of shooting weddings is that they take you places. Last Thursday we have arrived to Rehoboth Beach, DE area for two weddings that we are photographing this weekend. Yesterday I woke up for sunrise and started exploring the local area. There was a lot of fields with agricultural machines spread all over and they would certainly make for an interesting aerial but none of them were at work so early in the morning so I picked a little boat ramp at the place called Coursey Pond as my starting location. It seems like a perfect place to fly. You’re not really disturbing anyone, there’s ample room and of course not a living soul around you that early in the morning. I set the camera to 5 bracketed exposure on DJI GO app for Phantom 4 and started capturing the sequence of shots that I eventually merged in Lightroom. You can see the resulting high resolution photo above. For a detailed description of my workflow please have a look at the Aerial Imaging Guide I recently wrote.
Helpful hint for capturing long sequences of images FAST: use the right Micro SD card in your drone’s camera!
